Sprays
Setting sprays may seem counterproductive, as you’re essentially misting liquid all over your face after finally getting the perfect touches, but it really works! Typically, you should spray two to four times on your bare face, and then two to four times after applying makeup. It might feel funny while your face is wet, but once the liquid dries, you’ve got a look that will last all day and (hopefully!) well into the night.
I really like Urban Decay’s De-Slick Oil Control Setting Spray because it promises to keep oil from bubbling up to the surface. If you’ve got combination or oily skin, this product will be your savior. Good bye, blotting! Urban Decay also has an all-night spray that promises to last over 16 hours, so if you plan to stay out late, you might prefer that one.
Powders
If the idea of getting your face all wet is just too crazy for you to get over, you can get the same effect from setting powders. They work just like you would use any other powder; simply brush powder on with a fan brush over your completed look and blend as appropriate. These powders promise a weightless, polished look.
